EverlyCare Quick Start Guide

EverlyCare is a rhythm-based care app made for families facing Alzheimer's, stroke, and other physical limitations. It learns your person's daily rhythms β€” including their likely next toileting window β€” so you can prevent accidents before they happen instead of reacting after. Its features are shaped by real caregiving experience, and it's now live on the App Store. EverlyCare uses technology to lift the anxiety out of everyday care β€” easing the burden on family while protecting a hard-won sense of dignity and calm.

Learn the essentials in 5 minutes. One thing to remember: log for three days, and the patterns show up faster than you'd think.

1. Sign up & sign in

Open the app β†’ tap Register β†’ enter your email, password, and display name β†’ read and accept the privacy policy.
Forgot your password? Tap "Forgot password" on the login screen β†’ check your email β†’ tap the link in the newest email β†’ set a new password right in the app.

2. Add the person you care for

On first launch, you'll be guided to create a care-recipient profile: name, birth year, and your relationship. You'll be asked to confirm that you're entitled to record care information on this family member's behalf (proxy consent).

3. Daily logging (the heart of the app)

The large button at the bottom of Home is your entry point for everything: toileting, bowel, meals, fluids, medication, mood β€” each takes just seconds.
Β· Toileting / bowel: the time alone is valuable; add the amount and Bristol type when you can;
Β· Fluids: use the quick water presets on Home β€” one tap logs it (long-press to customize your usual amount);
Β· Accidents: log them honestly, with no guilt β€” they're the single most important clue to the pattern.
πŸ’‘ Consistency beats perfection. Log 4+ times a day for a week, and Insights will start revealing your person's own rhythm.

4. Reminders + logging from the notification

Set water and medication reminders in the Reminders tab. When one fires:
Β· tap the Log button on the notification β€” done, without even unlocking;
Β· or tap the notification itself to open a pre-filled log sheet and confirm.

5. Sleep window

Set your person's usual sleep hours in their profile. At night, Home shifts to a quiet night scene, and predictions and routine reminders respect their rest β€” no notifications waking anyone at 3 a.m. If you still need to provide overnight care, you can enable urgent reminders separately.

6. Reading the toileting prediction

The Home card shows the next likely toileting window, based on recent logs, meals, fluids, medication, and sleep β€” and local weather if you grant optional location access (diuretics and bladder-affecting medications shift the rhythm and are factored in; declining location changes nothing else).
The color signals urgency: green (relaxed) β†’ yellow (approaching) β†’ red (overdue). Guiding your person to the bathroom before the window is the single most effective way to reduce accidents.
⚠️ Predictions are a caregiving aid, not medical advice. They help you plan the day, but never replace a doctor's judgment.

7. Home-screen widget

Long-press an empty area of your home screen β†’ tap βž• β†’ search EverlyCare β†’ add the Small or Medium widget.
Β· At a glance: today's log count, the next predicted window, and who you're caring for (name in the top-left);
Β· The Medium widget logs directly β€” tap a button and watch for "βœ“ Logged";
Β· The seated timer helps your person sit for the full recommended time: tap start β†’ live countdown β†’ Done logs it automatically. For someone with reduced continence, a little extra time on the toilet helps empty more completely and prevents later accidents.

8. Invite family to the care team

So family members can log and view together:
β‘  They register their own account β†’ Settings β†’ copy their User ID β†’ send it to you;
β‘‘ You go to the Care Team tab β†’ tap βž• β†’ paste their ID β†’ send the invitation;
β‘’ They accept in their own Care Team tab. From then on, everyone's logs flow into one shared record.

9. History & reports

History includes a month calendar: logged days are marked, and tapping any day lets you review its records (long-press a log to edit it). Insights shows trends over time. When you need to, export a PDF report to share with your doctor.

10. Privacy & account

Β· Privacy policy: Settings β†’ Privacy Policy (English / δΈζ–‡);
Β· Delete account: Settings β†’ Delete Account, effective immediately;
Β· Questions: Settings β†’ Contact Us, or write to everlycarecore@googlegroups.com β€” we read every email.
